video of wind while in Glacier

Link to video in our Picasa web album

Almost the whole time we were on the eastern side of Glacier National Park in early October the wind was fierce. Here is a good example. We will be leaving for our large international travels on Friday. We are franticlly trying to get everything done that we need to before we go. We are planning to see the VW camper van that we took out west in order to help fund this portion of the trip. Anyone want a nice looking, sweet camping van? It has a new transmission and engine.

In Durango

We are in Durango Colorado with our friends Jen and Richard Griggs (from NC but currently living in Telluride, CO). We are behind on typing up our adventures or uploading pictures due to laptop problems and staying too busy. We have gotten a few photos up at our Picasa photo website and will put more here in the next week or so.

in Seattle

We set off from Raleigh over 3 weeks ago in a brand new-to-us 1985 VW camper van. We have had several great adventures so far, including a new transmission, seeing a herd of Buffalo, having several large moose walk through our campsite, hiking in knee deep snow in Glacier National Park, and seeing salmon passing through the salmon ladder by a lock and dam in Seattle.

We are staying with friends, Elizabeth and Ben Broadhead here in Seattle and I am going to get to catch up with my friend Moses (we were both US students in Melbourne Australia together in 1999) tomorrow.

The van is now running pretty good, but our laptop's backlight has given up the ghost so it is difficult to use.

More stories and pictures to come.
